Statement from °µÍøTV Spokesperson JP O’Hare

"To date, across New York State, over 400,000 computer-based testing sessions have been successfully submitted by students. We thank our school communities, students, and families for their patience with the testing system this week.

In response to a slowdown in the Grades 3-8 Computer-Based Testing System that affected the ability of some students to log in, we immediately demanded our vendor, NWEA, to identify a sustainable solution to address these issues. NWEA has provided evidence that aÌýpermanent solution has been implemented to avoid further slowdowns. On Thursday and Friday, over 150,000 student testing sessions were successfully submitted with no issues, indicating a return to expected operations of the system. We will continue to monitor the situation and advise schools and districts as necessary.

As a reminder, the computer-based testing window will be extended by one week to May 23 to offer additional time for schools impacted by slowdowns earlier this week. The tests will remain on the computer-based platform, and NYSED will ensure that NWEA offers ample support to schools that may require it."
